Print Time Estimator

A quick way to sanity-check a slicer's reported print time, or get a rough estimate before you slice.

What the numbers mean

The estimator computes the total length of filament path extruded by treating each layer as a series of strands with cross-section layer height × nozzle diameter. Time equals path length ÷ print speed, divided by an efficiency factor that accounts for acceleration, travels and retractions.

Choosing an efficiency factor

  • 0.9–0.95: large, simple parts on a well-tuned Klipper machine
  • 0.8–0.9: typical Bowden printers with default acceleration
  • 0.7–0.8: small parts with many short moves
